New Lift for Egan and Logan

We did it! Thank you to everyone who helped make this fundraiser a success! The new lift has been installed and Egan and Logan are now able to come and go safely from their home again thanks to your help. Here is a final message from Donna Scott before we close this fundraising page:
"It took a caring group of friends, family and community members to raise for an elevator!!
My Garden Walk was well received and a generous $15,000 was raised. What an experience! The support was overwhelming and a true message of caring was carried with every cash donation, cheque, email transfer and all the GoFund Me contributions.
A huge thank-you goes out to Alan Kiraly and his wonderful mother, Elaine Barling. By setting up the GoFund Me site, more amazing people were able to help us with the elevator project. We had 50 donors and raised $12,565.
The new elevator/lift with remoted doors has been in operation for a few weeks now! The freedom and independence that the elevator is allowing Egan, has been joyous to watch. All your donations contributed to that "JOY"!!
Your kindness and your thoughtfulness touched all our hearts. Forever thankful.

Friends, Classmates and Colleagues of Egan and Logan Mandreck:
Our dear friends, Egan and Logan Mandreck, who suffer from a rare genetic disease known as Friedreich’s Ataxia, need the lift in their home replaced. Over the years, their mum Donna has made all the necessary modifications to her home to accommodate their disability and to provide a safe and comfortable place for them to live. Now, the elevator – installed in 1997 – has broken down and needs to be replaced.
While Donna has done all she can to secure the necessary funds, she cannot cover the full cost on her own. Both Egan and Logan, who are confined to wheelchairs, require the lift to access the different levels in their house and to exit in an emergency. A new lift will enable them to stay in their existing home where Donna can care for them best.
While these are difficult times financially for many, we’re asking anyone who has ever spent time with Egan, Logan, or Donna over the years, to come together and reflect back some of the love, kindness and generosity they have shown us by making a financial donation to their cause.
Please tell your friends, family, former classmates and teachers or anyone else you know of that might remember Egan and Logan from school, a birthday party, or spending time with them on their favorite activities, about this fund. Through our collective generosity, we would like to raise the $25,000 Donna still needs to replace the elevator as soon as possible.
