Hi everyone, Kara and Hilary are sharing a new-to-us classroom this year, and we can’t wait to create a warm, colorful, welcoming haven of learning.
We both teach English Language Learners. Almost all of our students have been in the United States less than 5 years. This will be some students first time setting foot in an American school! All our students are striving to become English proficient while adjusting to American culture and expectations.
Kara is teaching or co-teaching 7th grade Language Arts classes and Hilary is teaching or co-teaching 6th grade Language Arts and Math.
We can’t wait for our students to walk into our room and feel comfort, safety, and positivity.
IT’S TIME FOR A CLASSROOM MAKEOVER!
The district will provide us a teacher desk, bookcases, students desks, and a storage closet. We are expected to pay for any other furniture, accents, and decor out of our own pockets.
