Please help the Bushard's at this time of crisis

On October 28th, Andy DeRock and his friend Ryan Busch went missing while camping in Northern Wisconsin. The boys were last seen canoeing. The canoe was later discovered, but Andy and Ryan have not been located. The Families of both boys have been up in Northern Wisconsin since Sunday, October 29th helping with the search efforts. As you can imagine, this is becoming very difficult for them for many reasons. They could really use help with money for food, lodging, and bills.

On the evening of October 28/29th, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a capsized canoe in the town of Wascott, Wisconsin, on the Minong Flowage with two occupants who were missing. The occupants have been identified as Ryan J. Busch, 26, and Andrew T. DeRock, 27, both from New Ulm, Minnesota.

Search efforts began almost immediately including WI DNR, Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, Minong Fire Department, Wascott Fire Department, Gordon Fire Department, Sawyer County Search and Rescue, St. Louis County Search and Rescue and the Superior Dive Team. Bruce’s Legacy, a private search organization, was contacted by the families and assisted in the efforts.

Alcohol is not considered a factor at this time. Weather conditions at the time of the incident were clear, calm and with a full moon and not considered a factor. Obstacles such as weather, cold water temperatures and natural foliage in the search area are hindering efforts. At this time this is considered a recovery mission and search efforts continue.

The parents of Ryan and Andrew would like to take the opportunity to thank the Wascott community and their family and friends for the overwhelming support they have received during this time.
