VFW Post 3117 Beautification

My name is Preya Majmundar and I am the Senior Patrol Leader of Troop 002G (female only), based in Edison, NJ. I am working towards the final rank of scouting, which is the Eagle rank, as well as becoming the First Female Eagle Scout in Raritan Valley District. Part of earning this rank requires planning and executing a project that allows me to showcase my leadership skills. For my project, I will be landscaping the front of VFW 3117 located on 53 National Road, Edison, NJ.

My project involves beautifying the front of the VFW by planting 15 shrubs, re-painting the cut-out in the front as well as adding white rocks for contrast and a border to prevent weed growth. I will also be restoring the flagpole as well as adding solar lights. Lastly, I will be adding flowers and shrubs in front of the sign to draw attention to it, as well as providing solar lights to illuminate it, and to draw attention to it.

As per BSA guidelines, scouting is a non-profit organization and all funds that will not be used for this project will go back to the VFW.
