Help our Sahara Desert Tour Guide in Morocco

The COVID pandemic has affected people all over the world. Some are close to us, others not so.

In 2018, we traveled to Morocco and visited several cities, ending our trip in the Erg Chebbi Desert at the edge of the Sahara. I had found Hassan Bazzine on Tripadvisor and we spent three days on a camel trek through the desert with him and other travelers. 

Hassan is an incredible person. He grew up as a Berber nomad, traveling between countries of North Africa with his parents. However, conflicts between some nations put a stop to that and like many others, he settled down in his village and started a desert tourism business taking guests for camel treks through the dunes. 

The pandemic has had a devastating impact on Hassan and his family. The Government of Morocco has closed the country to all foreigners, so the tourist business has come to a grinding halt. Hassan's Sahara Camel Tours  has no guests. He has no other source of income until things open up again. 

I have sent Hassan, and another of our Airbnb hosts in Tinghir,  $3,000 directly by Western Union since March to help them out. I was hoping that would last them until things recovered. However, it looks like it is going to be a while and they are going to need more help. 

Please contribute as much or as little as you can to help someone who is well-deserving of it. As someone who has known Hassan, albeit, for just a few days, I can vouch for Hassan's honesty and character. He is someone who will use any funds we send him wisely to support his family. 

I will send all funds collected to him via Western Union, a method that I used to send my own funds and that I know works.
