Help Tracey Fordice fight Ovarian Cancer

Hi, this is Randy Yearout, Tracey's husband, best friend, lover, and musical partner, and I'm organizing this fundraiser to help her in her battle with cancer.

To all our family, friends, and musical fans, we now feel we should inform you about the condition and updated status of Tracey Fordice and her battle with Cancer. As some of you may already know, Tracey was diagnosed with Advanced Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer on December 14th, 2021 and has been aggressively fighting this horrible disease for over 7 seven months now. Tracey chose to keep this private and share it only with family and close friends for quite a while, but recently she has decided to be more open about it, and so here we are today. We want to provide a timeline of her disease, treatments, and a current status update.

  • Initial diagnosis on Dec 14, 2021 (Advanced Stage 3C Ovarian Cancer which had spread throughout her abdomen/peritoneum. Biopsy revealed it is high-grade serous carcinoma)
  • Three cycles of Chemotherapy beginning on January 14, 2022
  • Debulking Surgery on March 24, 2022 (this major surgery was unsuccessful in removing any cancerous tumors due to the advanced stage of the disease with large tumors attached to the transverse colon and the sigmoid colon)
  • Six cycles of new Chemotherapy treatment beginning on April 7, 2022
  • Nine cycles of Angiogenesis Inhibitor treatment beginning April. 22, 2022 (this is a relatively new drug called Avastin, which inhibits blood vessel growth to help stop the growth of cancer tumors)
  • CT-Scan performed on July 18 showed cancer is stabilized but not reduced and has omental metastases (Your omentum is the fatty tissue that starts outside your stomach and drapes over your intestines).
  • Both treatments will continue through August. Afterward, a Maintenance plan with the Angiogenesis treatment will continue once every three weeks unless it proves to be ineffective on its own.

Essentially, all of these treatments and the surgery have not been successful in treating and reducing the cancer as was originally expected. Recently a CT-Scan on July 18 revealed that the disease is stable, but the Stage 3C remains unchanged. It has not metastasized to any major organs (e.g., liver, stomach, spleen, lungs, etc.) at this time. All we can do at the moment is continue the treatments and focus on keeping Tracey healthy in all other aspects, allowing her to achieve a somewhat normal lifestyle while living with the disease and the tumors inside her. This is commonly known as maintenance treatment. If the maintenance treatment proves to be ineffective after a while, we will meet again with our oncologist to determine if there are any new treatments or research trials that may be available.

As you can see, Tracey has endured a great deal over the past eight months, and so far, she has been able to keep a positive attitude with a healthy spirit during the ups and downs she has encountered. From the beginning, I have taken the role of her primary caregiver, which has put me under a great deal of emotional and physical stress. The amount of time, energy, and emotional stress in this area can be overwhelming, but I love her and wouldn’t have it any other way! I continue to work four days a week, and we have good medical insurance because of that. However, our out-of-pocket expenses have been extremely high, and we both have completely lost the income generated from our music business. In addition, performing our music together is a bond we are unable to cultivate now, and we are experiencing a severe loss in all aspects of this part of our lives together.

Finally, we seek your positive support through love, thoughts, prayers, cards, letters, or whatever your personal method may be. We have started this GoFundMe account to help offset the medical expenses, as any amount of support will go a long way in achieving a less stressful experience as we continue on this unexpected journey.
